News Filming
For enquiries on filming for a news programme where time is of the essence, please call the Press Office in the first instance to ascertain whether or not we are able to help. We can offer safe and accessible filming locations, as well as access to our shoppers for vox pops.
The Centre operates several locations for cabled live broadcasts and microwave uplink broadcasts.
If we are able to accommodate your news filming, you will need to complete a filming application (below), and email or fax that to the Press Office before a date can be confirmed.
Documentary/drama filming
For planned shoots in or out of opening hours, you will need to follow the filming application procedure with our locations team at Space2North. Recent shoots include BBC Survivors, BBC Britain From Above, Coronation Street and Shameless. We will need at least 10 working days between your application being received and the proposed filming date to enact all our procedures, so please get your application in with plenty of time. Please apply in the first instance to Space2North, by email or phone.
Commercial Filming
For commercial filming requests such as training videos and advertisements, a fee structure applies. Please complete a filming application form (below) in the first instance and email it to the Press Office for a speedy decision on whether or not we can help, and a first estimate of what any costs might be.
Radio
Intu Trafford Centre welcomes radio crews who wish to record vox pops on the Malls, and we also have several ISDN locations for live on-air broadcasts. Walk-and-talk broadcasts are possible because of the long sight-lines on the Malls which carry ISDN points.
Student Visits
Students are welcome to visit the Centre for their course requirements, and take photographs of the public facilities. Filming by student groups can only be permitted with authorisation by the Press Office.
Students wishing to carry out any filming in the Centre must complete a student filming application form (below), and email it together with a letter on headed paper from their course tutor detailing the name of the course and the teaching establishment. Interviews with customers are not permitted except with express authorisation from the Press Office.
Student Projects
Intu Trafford Centre welcomes hundreds of students a year, who use the location for filming and photography for their studies. We need from you a completed Student Filming Application form for all work carried out in the Centre, accompanied by a letter of introduction from your course tutor. Please email this to the address contained in the form. We are sorry, but we are unable to facilitate research visits or questionnaires on the Malls. You can read further student guidelines via the link below.

Events Photography
Intu Trafford Centre’s calendar is a year-round list of managed events ranging from the Christmas Lights Switch On, to fashion shows and concerts.
All professional photographers require accreditation from the Press Office. If you are a freelance photographer selling your pictures direct to the media, an agency photographer or an in-house photographer for a newspaper or magazine, you will need Press Office accreditation for each individual event you would like to cover.
For accreditation, you will need to fill in and email a photography application to the Press Office, or you will be refused access to the event.
IMPORTANT: For in-store events, book signings and celebrity appearances that take place within the shops and restaurants themselves, you DO NOT require intu Trafford Centre Press Office accreditation. You should enquire for access with the venue concerned – the list of numbers of each store is here >
Commercial Photography
Intu Trafford Centre offers several stunning locations for photography, from fashion shoots to commercial advertising.
For accreditation, you will need to fill in and email a photography application to the Press Office, or you will be refused access to the event.
